In response to a complaint by the Moroccan soccer federation, the 55-year-old Amrouche was banned by the African Soccer Federation (CAF), the Tanzanian soccer organization said on Friday.

On Wednesday, Morocco defeated the “Taifa Stars” 3-0 in their Group F opener.

Amrouche, an Algerian coach who has led many African national teams, has claimed that Morocco unfairly influenced CAF to provide favorable treatment, which hindered his team’s ability to compete.

The ban has not been verified by the CAF.

The remaining group matches for Tanzania are on Sunday vs Zambia and on Wednesday versus Congo. Those were supposed to be contests overseen by assistant coaches.
